Me and Eden

On Wednesday evenings, when I am on baby duties with Eden, our 8 month old daughter, she does the same thing every time! Every time I put her in the feeding chair ready for dinner, she does the exact same thing! As I go into the kitchen for 3 minutes to prepare her food, she always screams loud!

So loud, you would think I was abandoning her forever!

She looks around the room and daddy is not there! She does not understand why he would leave her at a time like this, so she cries even louder! Can he not see how hungry and desperate I am? I will scream louder she thinks! Throw a bigger tantrum she thinks, maybe that will get his attention!

But little does she know that daddy left the room but never left her alone! His whole heart and mind was on her the whole time! He knew how hungry she was and went to get her food.

This reminds me of God and me! Sometimes, I look around and I scream where are you in all this? How could you possibly leave me in my most desperate moment? But he never left me alone! He is a good-good father and seeks to provide bread for my hungry seasons!

Are you currently asking God where are you? Well, he might have left the room but he has never left you alone!

  1. Excellent reminder…I’ve been there myself! God says , He will NEVER leave us or forsake us! But I’m insecure and if we are honest most of us are , especially in desperate circumstances. Thank you Pastor Idu for this reminder.
