“Oh won’t you come and see, the tide of all humanity, every race, they come on bended knee.” Once and For All – Whiteheart.
Like many, Fall is my favorite season of the year. In addition to the coolness and crispness in the air, the slow pace of summer suddenly gives way to a flurry of activity. In preparation, I become occupied with all the groups starting at church, all the sporting events, all the school buses that I will pass on my way to work. I begin to marvel at all the things on my calendar.
We all have our alls. Some good, some not so good, some overwhelming.
From time to time, my alls bring me to read and consider Colossians 1:15-20:
“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.”
The seven alls in the passage, representing completion and perfection in Jesus, reminds me that God is the God of all, not part, not sometimes, not dependent on my mood or circumstances.
A couple more for good measure, “He forgave us all our sins…” Colossians 2:13 and “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…” Ephesians 3:20.
What are the alls that you are dealing with, navigating and hoping for? Surrender and speak His all over your alls.
He’s got a million of them.
He is ALL we need.
A quick Authors note; I’m living this one right now. It still works! We appreciate All of you.
I love this! Jesus….He is my all in all.
