Unearthed Stories: Shannon Gomez

“I knew, like I said, what He did for me, and I knew where I was going when I died. There was a big vacuum in the middle. And didn’t know what was missing till it was filled.”

Our good friend Shannon Gomez shares her powerful story of being awakened by the Holy Spirit from a traditional, safe, and normal religion to relationship with Jesus, empowerment, gifts, and wonder. The catalyst for this change was surrender, connection and discipleship. As Shannon says, “I am no longer a sleepwalker.”

Shannon and her husband T.J. are vibrant leaders and servants of His love and lead by example daily in their family and community. You can read more about Shannon at the end of the post.

Thanks to Kourtney Swob who did a great job capturing everything God was doing in the room and thanks to Shannon Gomez for sharing her story.

I grew up and live in Carleton, Michigan. My husband T.J. and I met as teenagers and have been married for 34 years. We have 4 children: Olivia 32, Isabella 29, Jack 25, and Sam 22. We also have 4 amazing and fun grandchildren. Averie, Harper, SJ, and Sosa K.

I am a traditional Doctor of Naturopathy and have a small natural health and nutrition consulting practice.

I love helping people, reminding them that God loves them and has created their bodies to heal inside and out.

I feel that the Lord has placed this on my heart and I am on a mission to help improve the health of others- especially the church body. I believe it is easier to serve God and love others when we are in a state of ease and not disease. – Shannon Gomez
